John Baxter Scott, was born on Friday 24th November 1905 at 326 Blackness Road, Dundee, Scotland. Educated at Dundee High School and then joined Dickson & M’Intyre, Accountants, in December 1923 where he worked and qualified as a Scottish Chartered Accountant in December 1928. He left Dickson & M’Intyre in June 1929 to join The Asiatic Petroleum Co. in London. On moving to London his first lodgings were at No 6 Wilson Road, Harrow-
Shortly after the wedding he was transferred to the Shell Company of Australia offices in Melbourne, Australia and worked for them from 16th November 1934 until 9th October 1939. Whilst in Australia he was seconded to the Shell Company of New Zealand in Wellington for six months in 1936.
He was then transferred to the Shell offices in Point Fortin, Trinidad returning to their London offices in September 1947, from 1st December 1947 until the end of 1959 working for Shell Petroleum in London. He then moved to Toronto, Canada for working for Canadian Shell Limited and Shell Investment from January 1960 to 31st October 1964 when he retired.
Resident in the UK from 10th December 1964 to 4th April 1966, then moved to Toronto, Canada until 28th May 1970. On returning to the United Kingdom in 1970 they lived in various places around the U.K.
